Vandalia Health names Laura McCall as Executive Director of Philanthropy for northern region

Vandalia Health has appointed Laura McCall as the Executive Director of Philanthropy for Vandalia Health’s northern region, according to a press release from the health system.

Most recently serving as the Senior Director of Philanthropy for the Vandalia Health Mon Health Medical Center Foundation, McCall brings more than 25 years of experience in fundraising and development to this new role.

“It is an honor to welcome Laura McCall as the Executive Director of Philanthropy,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO of Mon Health System and Davis Health System–Vandalia Health Northern Region, and Executive Vice President of Vandalia Health. “Her deep understanding of the needs, challenges and opportunities that exist within our health system and the communities we serve combined with her proven leadership and passion for development will be essential in this role as our philanthropic efforts come into alignment with health system mission and vision.”

As the landscape of health care continues to evolve and present unique challenges, McCall sees opportunities for philanthropic efforts to help ease the burdens of patients, support innovation and expansion for the health system and bring value to the communities the health system serves.

“Being able to align donors’ wishes with identified needs can lead to meaningful, life-changing outcomes, from expanding access to education to supporting treatments for patients who might not otherwise be able to afford them,” said McCall.

During her tenure as Senior Director of Philanthropy, a broader team approach to development began to form with events like the first annual Dragon Boat Festival, which benefitted clinical expansion projects at Vandalia Health Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston and Vandalia Health Mon Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, and the 2025 Ball of the Year, which for the first time gave donors the ability to choose which community was impacted by their gifts.

“My vision is to strengthen philanthropy across Vandalia Health’s northern region by creating alignment where it matters and preserving local identity where it’s essential,” said McCall. “Each of our hospitals has its own history, relationships, and priorities, and that’s a strength.”

In this new role, McCall will work in close partnership with the boards, donors and community stakeholders of Vandalia Health’s northern region to support their efforts, working collaboratively to achieve goals within the region.
