GLENVILLE — The West Virginia Wesleyan’s women’s soccer team fell 3-0 on the road to previously winless Glenville State Wednesday evening.
The Lady Bobcats fell behind early, conceding in the seventh minute when Glenville’s Valentina Quiroz finished a combination play set up by Lauren Schwartz and Sofia Jalaksova.
Wesleyan entered the second half trailing by a goal and continued to create chances. The Lady Bobcats tallied 10 total shots (seven on goal), with Ava Badallo and Sydne Alexander each recording multiple shots on frame.
Glenville State doubled their lead in the 61st minute as Quiroz netted her second goal of the match, this time assisted by Aitana Viejo. The Pioneers added a third in the 71st minute on a strike from Margaux Fernandez.
The Lady Bobcats celebrate Homecoming with a rivalry match against University of Charleston. Kickoff is Sunday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m.
