Bennie Eugene Nazelrod II

Bennie Eugene Nazelrod, II, of Buckhannon, WV the Hinkleville Community departed his life here on Earth in the comfort of his home to begin his eternal life in Heaven with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

He was born on June 28, 1960, in Buckhannon to the late Bennie E. Nazelrod, Sr., and Mary Louise Miles Nazelrod.

On July 16, 1988, he married the love of his life, Diana “Dee” Courtney Nazelrod, who survives.

Also surviving is their son that he was so proud of and loved unconditionally, Benjamin “Tyler” Nazelrod, of Hinkleville, WV; and four grandchildren that he adored, triplet grandsons that nearly put him in shock when learning there would be three and not just one: Nicholas Wayne Nazelrod, Luke Bryant Nazelrod, and Gavin Drew Nazelrod; then along came a beautiful little girl, Addison Rose Nazelrod.

Also, Priscilla J. Nazelrod, the mother of their grandchildren, has always been a daughter to them.

Also surviving are his two sisters that he loved very much, Katrina “Kay” Tener and her children, Melissa and Michael; and Andrea “Andi” Evans and her husband, Mike, and their son, Josh.

Additionally, he is survived by his wife’s siblings that were like brothers and sisters: Ann Stewart; Betty Malcolm and husband, John (his best friend); Garry Courtney; Charles “June” Courtney; and Richard “Dick” Demastes; special nieces, Brooke (Stewart) Jamison, who was more like a daughter, and Jennifer Higgins; and special nephews, Davy Courtney and wife Loretta, and Seth Courtney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Papaw Mac Miles; Mamaw Pearl Bennett Nazelrod Westfall; brother-in-law, Mike Tener; mother-in-law, Irene Courtney; and brother-in-law, Randy Courtney.

After graduating with the Buckhannon-Upshur Class of 1978 and at the young age of 17, Bennie started his own business, B&B Body Shop, that he continued to own and operate for 40 years.

Along with operating his own business, he was an employee with the Upshur County Board of Education as a school bus driver for 23 years, a job that he absolutely loved as well as the kids he transported. He then transferred to Maintenance with the Upshur County Board of Education until retiring.

Bennie had a big heart and was always helping others in one way or another. For that reason, he joined the Adrian Volunteer Fire Department where he became a firefighter for almost 2 years and then was elected to the position of fire chief, a position he continued to hold for 24 years before resigning due to health issues; however, he was made a lifetime member “Jack-of-all-Trade” and “Mr. Fix-It”; you could always count on Bennie. He will be always loved and terribly missed by his entire family as well as his many, many, many friends.

In honoring Bennie’s wishes, he will be cremated.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral is in charge of the arrangements.
