Marianne Frederick

Marianne Frederick, age 90, of Rock Cave, died Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

She was born on February 16, 1935, in Riverside, New Jersey, a daughter of the late William Ralph and Kathryn Mae Detweiler Higgins.

On October 22, 1960, she was united in marriage to Mike Frederick, Jr. who preceded her in death on July 4, 1991.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister Lois Ghaul; two brothers: William and Robert Higgins; and one nephew Rick Ghaul.

She is survived by three sons: Mike Frederick, III and wife Crystal of Buckhannon, Richard Frederick and wife Jenette of North Prince George, VA, and Scott Frederick and wife Jamie of Buckhannon; one daughter Sherri Frederick and fiancé Stephen Buchanan of Rock Cave; five grandchildren: Heather and husband Marvin Zickefoose, Heidi and husband Dusty Harper, Tyler Frederick and wife Heather, Casey Frederick, and Tayden Swindler; six great grandchildren: Hanna Harper, Levi Harper, Annabelle Frederick, Alizabeth Frederick, Natalee Frederick, and Carmen Carr; special niece Linda Edge; and several other nieces and nephews.

Marianne was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Rock Cave CEOS, and often volunteered with functions at the Rock Cave VFD.

She enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, and travelling with family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, the body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM; a memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Mitchell L. Griffin, III officiating. Private inurnment will be made at the Heaston Cemetery.
