Michael “Mike” Carpenter

Michael “Mike” Carpenter, age 79, of Alexander Road, French Creek, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born on March 26, 1946, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Sullie and Retha Virginia Gooden Carpenter.

He is survived by his longtime companion Lisa Rodriguez; two sons: Don Carpenter and Gary Carpenter and wife Tonya, both of French Creek; daughter-in-law Hope Suder; three grandchildren: Heather, Autumn, and Kandi Carpenter; two step-grandchildren: Rachel Ball and Jamie Poling; one great-grandson Micah; and two step-great-grandchildren: Felicity and Parker.

He is also survived by one sister, Madeline Page and husband Paul of Buckhannon; two brothers, Dwight Carpenter and wife Carolyn of Hemlock and Allen Carpenter and wife Joyce of French Creek; good friend Troy “Buddy” Brady; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike enjoyed fishing, camping, and working on small engines.

The body will be cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
