Eddy Lynn Farnsworth

Eddy Lynn Farnsworth, 73, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, died Monday, April 20, 2026, at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born August 18, 1952, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Egbert Timothy Farnsworth and Vergie Dell Depoy Brinkley.

On March 10, 1972, he married Loretta Sue Casto, who preceded him in death on December 1, 2006. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sons, Scotty Lynn, Jamie Lynn and Douglas Shane Farnsworth; and three sisters, Ellen Miller, Judy Reigel and Rose Gezik.

Eddy is survived by one son, Eddy Shawn Farnsworth and fiancé Pam Nuzum of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Shawn Taylor Farnsworth of Mabie, West Virginia, Logan Shane Farnsworth of Rosemont, West Virginia, and Austin Douglas Farnsworth of Tallmansville, West Virginia; one great-granddaughter, Salem Elise Farnsworth of Mabie; one great-grandson, Levi Scout Farnsworth of Mabie; four brothers, James, Robert “Bob,” and Harold Farnsworth, all of Buckhannon, and Tim Farnsworth of Pennsylvania; and three sisters, Mildred Cutright and Jean Bryant and husband Jay, all of Buckhannon, and Eva Gay of Harrisville, West Virginia.

Mr. Farnsworth served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a school bus driver in Upshur County.

Friends will be received Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the funeral home. In honoring his wishes, Mr. Farnsworth will be cremated after the service.
