Bulky goods collection begins at 5:30 a.m. Bulky goods collection for large items such as couches, chairs, mattresses and appliances — All Buckhannon Waste Department customers are allowed four items per month and eight tires per year. You must call by Wednesday, June 11, 2025, to schedule a pick-up. Items must be at the curb by 5:30 a.m. on Friday to ensure pick-up.

Almost Heaven BBQ Bash – June 12–14, 2025 — Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Almost Heaven BBQ Bash in and around Jawbone Park in downtown Buckhannon. This special celebration will feature top-rated KCBS teams preparing chicken, ribs, pork and brisket for judging, artists and crafters, live entertainment, delicious BBQ and other food vendors, family activities and much more. Festival Fridays in Jawbone Park — Create Buckhannon continues its summer season on Friday, June 20, with Soda Pop Gypsies. The Buckhannon Community Band opens from 5:00–6:00 p.m. Festival Fridays is a free, family-friendly community event featuring live music, local food vendors, fresh produce, artisans, crafters and children’s activities.

Pay utility bills online or by phone — To make an online payment, visit https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/buckhannonwv. To pay by phone, call 1-866-933-4026. You can also set up an account to monitor consumption; you will need your Utility Board account number (printed on your bill) and the last amount you paid. Once your account is established, log in with your email and password.

Report a necessary repair or register a concern with the city – To report potholes, damaged street signs, park issues or other matters, call City Hall during business hours and submit a work order request, or use our citizens engagement tool at https://buckhannonwv.portal.iworq.net/BUCKHANNON/new-request/700/3444. This helps speed response times.

Yard waste (debris) will be collected from City of Buckhannon residents on the following dates: June 6, June 27, July 11, July 25, August 8 and August 22, 2025. Beginning September 1, 2025, collection will occur every Friday through November 30. Residents must contact Buckhannon City Hall to be placed on the collection list. Residents may also take bagged yard waste debris to the transfer station during normal operating hours free of charge and may bring two truckloads per year free of charge.

Yard reclamation services bids – The City of Buckhannon is now accepting bids for yard reclamation services. Bids will be received until 2 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, when they will be opened. Bid information may be obtained at Buckhannon City Hall, 70 East Main Street, Buckhannon, WV 26201, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
