Elkins Raceway begins its 73rd season of Saturday night racing, honoring late track manager Jim Skidmore with weekly events, full race divisions, and family-friendly admission in Kerens, West Virginia, through August 2025.

The engines are warming up, and the anticipation is building as Elkins Raceway prepares to kick off its 73rd anniversary racing season, continuing a proud legacy of motorsports excitement in the heart of West Virginia.

After an active spring clean-up effort following early-season flooding, the team at Elkins Raceway is ready to welcome fans back to the track for another unforgettable year of Saturday night racing. This season holds special significance as it is dedicated to the memory of longtime track manager Jim Skidmore, who passed away in December 2024. Skidmore’s dedication and leadership helped shape Elkins Raceway into one of the region’s premier dirt tracks.

Race divisions & weekly competition

The 2025 season will feature a full lineup of competitive racing every Saturday night, including:

  • Super Late Models
  • Crate Late Models
  • Modifieds
  • Hot Mods
  • Street Stocks
  • Younger Mini-Wedges
  • Older Mini-Wedges

An open practice night is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, offering teams a chance to fine-tune before the green flag officially drops on Saturday, May 3.

Admission & schedule

Racing continues every Saturday through August 2025.

  • General Admission: $15
  • Children 11 and under: Free in Grandstands
  • Pit Passes: $30
  • Special event pricing may vary.
