Dorotha Ann “Dottie” Bosley Simmons Casto

Dorotha Ann “Dottie” Bosley Simmons Casto, age 90, of the Bailey Ridge community, Buckhannon, died Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

She was born in Alton, WV on July 25, 1934, a daughter of the late William Earl and Pauline Olive Zickefoose Bosley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Adon Rowe Simmons; second husband Cecil M. Casto; son Adon Rocky Simmons; brother Robert L. Bosley and great grandchildren Whitney Tuttle and Luke Campbell.

She is survived by two granddaughters: Mandy Simmons of Buckhannon and Tonya and husband Matthew Campbell of Sutton, WV; two great grandchildren: Britney McKisic and Ethan Campbell; three great-great grandchildren: Lakelynn, Brylee and Mavrik; four sisters: Norma Bosley of Brookfield, OH, Sonja Casey of Loudonville, OH, Joy Kline of Glenmont, OH and Jane Noie of Brookfield, OH; three brothers: Ronald Jackson Bosley of Newton Falls, OH, Larry Roger “Butch” Bosley of Leavittsburg, OH and Herbert Bosley and wife Vickie of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.

Dottie was a member of the South Buckhannon Mission Church where she faithfully attended. She was also a life member of the DAV and VFW Ladies’ Auxiliaries. She delighted in cardinals and her collection of red birds filled her home. Many were fed around her table as she lovingly cooked and cared for her family, and her door was always open to anyone in need.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 4-6:00 PM at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. A funeral will be held at the South Buckhannon Mission Church on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Camp Cemetery.
