Mon Hills Records artist Lauren Winans releases new single ‘The Loser’

Mon Hills Records is proud to announce the release of “The Loser,” the latest single from artist Lauren Winans. Released across all streaming platforms on February 27, 2025, this heartfelt track marks a significant moment in Winans’ musical journey as the softest song featured on her upcoming EP, “The Truth Will Set You Free.”

Co-written with Emily Shackleton James (Carly Pearce, Sarah Evans and Reba McEntire), “The Loser” is a deeply personal song that was created in 2014, with just a piano as the driving instrument behind its gentle melody. Over the years, Winans has carefully cultivated it into a defining piece of her upcoming EP, which is set to explore the most intimate moments of her life.

The single’s raw vulnerability and tender instrumentation give listeners a rare glimpse into Winans’ storytelling. “The Loser” fits seamlessly into the overarching theme of her EP—documenting pivotal and emotional moments in her personal life through music.

Winans shares her thoughts on the track: “This is the nicest/most sappy song I’ve released. Grown men say it gets them in their feels when I sing it.”

With “The Loser,” Lauren Winans continues to prove her ability to connect with listeners on a deeply emotional level, offering both strength and sensitivity in her music. Fans of her previous work and newcomers alike will be drawn to this tender and beautiful song.

Don’t miss the release of “The Loser,” now available on all streaming platforms.

Lauren Winans is signed to Mon Hills Records, an imprint of Mon Hills Music Group. Mon Hills Music Group serves as a collection of independent record labels and acts as the professional component of the West Virginia University Music Industry Program, directed by Prof. Darko Velichokovski, at the university’s College of Creative Arts.
