Pauline ‘Polly’ Turner

Pauline “Polly” Turner, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

She was born February 12, 1942, in Sago, WV, a daughter of the late Frank Elbon and Norma Shipman Robinson. On July 12, 1957, she married Jack Gail Turner who preceded her in death on December 31, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tabitha Ables; three brothers, Ben Robinson, Ray Robinson, and Bert Elbon and one sister, Marylin K. Elbon.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Simons of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Samintha Wilmoth and husband William of Weston, WV; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Ables of Buckhannon and Tabby Wilmoth of Weston; seven siblings, Carol Gross and husband Robert of Buckhannon, Nancy Elbon of Buckhannon, Jim Elbon and wife Emily of OH, Patty McQuain and husband Jack of Buckhannon, and Steve Elbon and wife Sherry of Buckhannon and lots of special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Turner was a lifelong member of the Sago Baptist Church. She was also part of the homemaker’s club. Polly was an animal lover and loved all of her pets. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jill & Danny Cutright, Audrey Goins, Betsy Talbott, Justin Howes, Johnathan Currence, and Stephen Cutright for their loving care.

Friends will be received Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4PM to 8PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Elbon Cemetery in Sago.
