Hank Ellis Insurance takes over top spot in men’s golf league standings

TENNERTON – Hank Ellis Insurance took over first place in the Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League standings with a big win in week seven overall and week two of the second quarter.

Hank Ellis Insurance overtook Sam’s Pizza for first place after a huge 24 ½-15 ½ win over First Community Bank for a total of 48 ½ points.

Feola’s Flowers is in a solid second place after a 23 ½-16 ½ win over Sam’s Pizza who dropped to fourth place. Feola’s Flowers currently has 44 ½ points while Sam’s Pizza has 41.

Sandwiched between those two teams in third place is Custom Cabinets after earning a 20-20 tie with Highland Landscaping with 41 1/2 points.

The other match of the week saw Lisa Cain Edward Jones defeat High Point Construction by a 22-18 count.

Mike Tenney of Feola’s Flowers had a big week as he brought home top honors in Low Actual and Low Net scores. He shot a 36 for Low Actual and a 31 for Low Net.
