PHILIPPI — Annette Fetty-Santilli of Philippi, a Community Partner for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) in West Virginia, was one of the top fundraisers at the annual Pittsburgh PurpleStride: the Walk to End Pancreatic Cancer on Saturday, April 27. She raised over $15,000 as captain of Team West Virginia for the event.

The Pittsburgh PurpleStride is one of the nation’s Top 10 PurpleStrides, and raised over $470,000. Team West Virginia raised over $16,000, which was good enough for 4th place. Both Annette and pancreatic cancer survivor Carol Adams Miller of Parkersburg were both members of the Grand Club for raising over $1,000.

On Saturday, April 27, there were 60 PurpleStrides all over the nation. Two PurpleStrides, Los Angeles and New York City, raised over $1,000,000 each.

Annette has been volunteering for PanCAN since her 38-year old brother passed away from pancreatic cancer. In 2016, she was named the 2016 National PanCAN Community Advocate of the Year, and served on the National Volunteer Advisory Council.
