BUCKHANNON – Buckhannon’s HearingLife location officially reopened Wednesday after hiring a new provider.
The Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce organized a ribbon-cutting Wednesday to celebrate the business’s reopening at 4 Northridge Drive, Suite 110.
Matt Ridge, West Virginia district manager for HearingLife, said the Northridge location will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We’ve been in business for over 100 years in all aspects of hearing. We do assessments for our patients for determining hearing loss, providing acceptable solutions and getting them help and care along the way,” Ridge said. “This is a reopening; we had a had a gap in our provider over the last year-and-a-half or so, and Chase Erlewine just came to us in mid-October, and we were able to reopen our doors for all of our patients and start seeing everybody again.”
Ridge said people suffering from hearing loss may not seek help for years or until they notice a big difference.
“People come here because they want help with their hearing – they’ve realized they have some sort of struggle – and most people wait up to seven years before they actually seek out help,” Ridge said. “It’s one of those things you don’t realize what you’re missing until it comes to the forefront.”
