North Central W.Va. Christmas craft shows sure to spread holiday cheer in coming weeks

BUCKHANNON — What better way to spread Christmas cheer than gifting handmade crafts to your loved ones? Local crafters have joined forces to bring you an abundance of Christmas craft and vendor shows across North Central West Virginia throughout this holiday season.

Whether shoppers are in search of a live tree, small ornaments, baked goods, or figurines, vendors are eager to showcase their work and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year — with you!

My Buckhannon has recently partnered with the Upshur County Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring our readers a list of those local vendors and craft shows. See the list below of shows taking place in Belington, Bridgeport, Buckhannon, Clarksburg, Elkins, Ellamore, Glenville, Philippi and Weston.

CHRISTMAS IN THE HILLS — GILMER COUNTY CEOS HOLIDAY HOUSE
  • Friday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Gilmer County Recreation Center Dining Hall, 1365 Sycamore Run in Glenville, WV

Lunch is available for purchase during the show. Presale tickets are $10. Tickets at the door are $12. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, dressing and dessert. Crafts will be on sale as well. There’s truly something for everyone! There will be handmade crafts, quilts, crochet items, handcrafted soaps, scents and more.

HODGESVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO CHRISTMAS VENDOR SHOW
  • Saturday, Dec. 2, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The Outpost and Event Center, 20 Raella Lane in Buckhannon, WV

ELKINS COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
  • Saturday, Dec. 2, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Phil Gainer Community Center, 142 Robert E. Lee Avenue Ext in Elkins, WV

Welcome the holiday season on the first Saturday in December at the Phil Gainer Community Center.
The Elkins Community Christmas Bazaar will feature a unique variety of vendors, pictures with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and furry friends from the Randolph County Humane Society. Concessions will be available for purchase. Admission is free; however, a donation of a new/unused toy to benefit Randolph County Toys for Tots is strongly encouraged. CHRISTMAS IN THE GLEN

Handmade crafts by local crafters and artists will be available to purchase. Concessions will be made available by the Gilmer County Recreation Center. UPTOWN CHRISTMAS CRAFT & VENDOR SHOW
  • Saturday, Dec. 2
  • The Uptown Event Center, 305 Washington Ave in Clarksburg, WV

BU HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

  • Buckhannon-Upshur High School, 270 BU Drive in Buckhannon, WV

The Buckhannon-Upshur High School Fine Arts Department will present BU Home for the Holidays on Friday, Dec. 8. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a $7 admission. Santa will be available for photos. 50/50 raffle. Silent auction concessions and an evening of holiday music from B-UHS band, jazz band, orchestra, choir, Soundwaves, elementary choirs, and the Buckhannon Community Band. Vendor spaces are available outside for individuals who want to sell live Christmas trees, wreaths, wooden Christmas figurines or other outdoor crafted holiday items. Hot food, drinks, and 50/50 tickets available to purchase inside the venue. A silent auction will be hosted for the public to bid on items of their liking for a chance to win. Door prizes will be drawn every hour.

  • $20 fee for table, 2 chairs and electric hook-up (vendors must supply their own extension cords)
  • $15 for a non-electric space, table and 2 chairs
  • $10 for a non-electric space, no tables or chairs

With 35 craft vendors, Christmas music, and warm drinks from The Daily Grind this sounds like a recipe for a good time! $25 per vendor space. 10×10 area with 8-foot table and two chairs provided.
