Elkins Raceway hosts Candy Rush; over 40,000 pieces of candy find new homes

KERENS – Sweet tooths gathered at Elkins Raceway Saturday night for the annual Candy Rush event.

Over 40,000 individual pieces of candy were spread across the front stretch of the 3/8 mile dirt track Saturday for this sweet event. Children eagerly lined up with their families before the green flag dropped, marking the start to the Candy Rush. Children quickly filled their bags with sweets before an evening of feature races began.

At the conclusion of the Candy Rush, drivers were back doing what they do best, racing.

Join Elkins Raceway this Saturday for the first Picture & Autograph Night of the season. Racing fans are encouraged to bring a sharpie for autographs and cameras as they meet their favorite drivers under the track lights.

Weather permitting, pit gates will open every Saturday night at 5 p.m. with $30 admission. General admission to the grandstands begins at 6 p.m. with $15 admission. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.
