Hemp fans flock to Moon Flower on opening day for free swag, to sample products

BUCKHANNON — Main Street’s newest hub for hemp products and hanging out, Moon Flower, celebrated its grand opening Friday morning with an official Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.

The line of patrons waiting to sample CBD- and THC-infused drinks and specially baked goods galore stretched past Dairy Queen down East Main Street ahead of Moon Flower’s March 31 opening. Co-owners, sisters Riley and Macie Queen, said showed off their freshly-infused drinks and bakery items, as well as their educational grow room and interactive stations spaced throughout the store.

The first 50 customers received swag bags full of the business’s brightly colored seed-to-sale CBD, Delta-8 and Delta 9 products.

Moon Flower, located at 46 E. Main Street, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. The Queens said they may host special events on certain Saturdays, such as the weekend after 4/20 and during larger events like the West Virginia Strawberry Festival.
