Rev. Dr. John Edwin Wildman

Rev. Dr. John Edwin Wildman, age 84, of Buckhannon and formerly of Ravenswood, WV died on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. 

He was born November 22, 1938, in Ravenswood, WV a son of the late Claude Ray and Mae Jones Wildman.  He was united in marriage on November 22, 1958, to MaDora Baylor Wildman who survives.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Ed and wife Lisa Wildman of Buckhannon, one granddaughter Cardyn Elizabeth Wildman and Fiancé Brycen Williams, three sisters; Sarah Sayre of Parkersburg, Alice Icenhower of Ravenswood, and Barbara Lockhart of South Charleston; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Rev. Dr. Wildman served thirty-seven years as a United Methodist Minister in the WV United Methodist Conference.  He was very active as a twenty-year volunteer for the Burlington United Methodist Family Services.  He also served as a project manager for Habitat for Humanity.  He attended the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. 

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 4-7 PM.  Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Ravenswood Cemetery in Ravenswood, WV with Rev. Steve Meadows officiating.
