BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan fell to the University of Mount Union at home 21-2 in a home lacrosse outing Saturday afternoon. The Purple Raiders got 32 shots off and had 12 assists in the win.

Mount Union scored the first goal of the game just 54 seconds in. The Purple Raiders scored eight more goals in the first to jump out to a 9-0 lead after one. The defense for the Lady Bobcats tightened as Mount Union scored five goals in the second to take a 14-0 lead at halftime.

Gaidian Adams scored the first goal of the game for the Lady Bobcats just minutes into the new half. Emma Adcock was able to get Wesleyan on the board again at the 4:08 mark to make it 14-2. Mount Union scored a goal with a minute left in the third quarter, holding onto a 15-2 lead going into the closing quarter.

The Purple Raiders put six more goals on the board in the fourth Quarter and held the Lady Bobcats scoreless to finish the game.

Sam Karr led Mount Union with five goals. Mackenzie Kolstad and Julia Bates both added four goals each. Madi Karr had five assists as well.

Adcock and Adams had Wesleyan’s two goals. Adcock was able to get nine shots off in the loss.

Wesleyan returns home on Tuesday to host Wilmington at 2 p.m.
