This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Ian Strader and Kendal Currence

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur that has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, the swimming pool or the wrestling mat.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Jan. 30 – Feb. 5 are Ian Strader and Kendal Currence.

Strader is a junior on the Buccaneer basketball team. In 1-1 week for the Bucs, Strader was the leading scorer for B-U in both games. He scored 17 points with an efficient 7-for-11 shooting night from the floor while also grabbing seven rebounds in a road win over rival Lewis County. In a road contest at Hampshire, Strader again led the Bucs with 11 points while adding three rebounds.

Currence is a senior on the Lady Buc basketball squad. She reached double digits in both B-U games last week. She had 10 points, four rebounds and four blocks in a loss to Bridgeport and tallied 13 points, four rebounds and a block in a 72-34 win over Lewis County.

Congratulations to Strader and Currence as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
