Bobcat basketball program announces 2022-23 schedule

BUCKHANNON, W.Va.– The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s basketball team and Head Coach Derek Sloan released its 2022-23 schedule. The Bobcats are scheduled to play 12 home games this season at the Rockefeller Center.

The Bobcats will open the season in Johnstown, Pa. Nov. 11-12 and compete in the Pitt-Johnstown Tip-Off Classic. Wesleyan is scheduled to play both the host Mountain Cats and Lock Haven at the Pitt-Johnstown Tip-Off Classic. Wesleyan will continue its road stretch with an exhibition matchup against Division I Robert Morris in Moon Township, Pa. on Nov. 16. The ‘Cats will turn around and play at California (Pa.) on Nov. 17.

Wesleyan starts Mountain East Conference play on the road against Frostburg State on Nov. 19. The Bobcats will play its home opener in the Rockefeller Center against MEC opponent Fairmont State on Nov 22. To close out the month, WVWC will hit the road and face off against West Liberty on Nov. 30.

The Bobcats have three games scheduled before winter break. Wesleyan has a pair of home games against Wheeling on Dec. 3 and Alderson Broaddus on Dec. 7 before hitting the road to battle Notre Dame (Ohio) on Dec. 10.

Wesleyan will begin 2023 on the road with a non-conference matchup against Salem on Jan. 2. Before hosting West Virginia State on Jan. 7 and Concord on Jan. 11, WVWC will travel to Charleston, W.Va. to face off against the Golden Eagles on Jan. 4. The Bobcats have consecutive home contests versus Frostburg State on Jan. 18 and Davis & Elkins on Jan. 21. To close out the month, WVWC will travel to Wheeling on Jan. 25 and host West Liberty on Jan. 28.

The Bobcats will play in Rockefeller Center a total of four times throughout February, beginning with Notre Dame (Ohio) on Feb. 1. The ‘Cats will welcome Salem to Buckhannon on Feb. 6, followed by Charleston on Feb. 8 and Glenville State on Feb. 18. Wesleyan will be on the road a total of five times in February, with matchups against Alderson Broaddus (Feb. 4), West Virginia State (Feb. 11), Concord (Feb. 15), Fairmont State (Feb. 22) and Davis & Elkins on (Feb. 25).

The Mountain East Conference Tournament will be held from Mar. 1 to Mar. 5 in Wheeling, W.Va.
