Fairmont State’s Folklife Center to host Ballads, Hymns and Dulcimers benefit concert

Fairmont State University’s Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center will host the Ballads, Hymns and Dulcimers benefit concert on Sunday, August 28 at 2 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public with donations to be accepted to aid flood victims in Eastern Kentucky. Musicians including Rob N. Lackey, Lynette Swiger and The Kennedy Barn String Band will be featured during the benefit concert

Housed on the Fairmont State University campus, the Frank & Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center is home to the Ruth Ann Musick folklore archives, the Phyllis W. Moore West Virginia Authors archives and the Patty Looman collection. The Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center is dedicated to the identification, preservation and perpetuation of our region’s rich cultural heritage, through academic studies, educational programs, festivals, performances and publications.
