Women: WVWC 4, Concord 1
ATHENS, W.Va. – The battle between the Mountain East Conference southern division titans proved to be pretty lopsided Thursday as the West Virginia Wesleyan College Lady Bobcats pounced on the Mountain Lions for a 4-1 win.
Wesleyan’s Shannon Shawgo had the game’s lone goal in the first half, but she was joined by teammates Carolyn Saulle, Haelly Ramirez and Marissa Zetty in the second stanza.
The win gave the Lady ‘Cats a commanding lead in the southern division standings. They are unbeaten since a season-opening loss at Slippery Rock.
The LBC will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday when they host Urbana. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. with the senior announcements just prior.
