Hartsel Gene Cool

Hartsel Gene Cool, 84, of Buckhannon, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 9, 2022. 

He was born June 30, 1937, in Webster County a son of the late Robert McKinley and Ella Moats Cool. 

He was united in marriage on July 2, 1960, to Gladys L. Simmons Cool who survives.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons:  Hartsel L. Cool and Allen Gene Cool both of Buckhannon; three grandchildren:  Thomas Allen Cool, Krista Renee Cool and Eric Allen Cool; a special sister-in-law Goldie Carpenter Cool of Morgantown.

Hartsel was baptized April 14, 1974, and was a member of the Summit Assembly of God Church in Girard, Ohio.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Republican Steel.

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 10-11:00 AM the funeral hour with Pastor Mike Hamrick officiating.   Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park with the Upshur County Honor Guard conducting military honors.
