MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Police and Office of Emergency Management responded to a shots fired incident shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 7).

WVU Police officers heard the shots at the top of North High Street and immediately responded to the area.

No one was at the scene when officers arrived, but they found fired bullet casings on the ground.

Witnesses told police several men were arguing when one pulled out a gun and fired it into the air before running away.

University and Morgantown Police officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate the suspect.
