Lady Bobcats beat Urbana on Senior Day

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan College women’s soccer team remains undefeated in Mountain East Conference play with a 2-0 win over the Urbana Blue Knights on Sunday.

Before the game, the Lady Bobcats recognized their seniors for the their contributions to the school and the soccer program: Jenna Alonge, Audrey Barber, Alex O’Brien, Sydney Porter, Natalie Prater, Taylor Rhodes and Isabella Salas.

Wesleyan got on the board in the 18th minute when MaKatlyn Tucker facilitated a through ball for Prater, who beat the keeper with her well-placed shot that sneaked into the bottom-left corner.

The 1-0 score stood until the 74th minute. Jadyn Tavelkelian’s throw-in bounced around in the box and was eventually intercepted by Marissa Zetty, who fired a shot to the bottom-right corner to beat the Urbana keeper and add some insurance through the final minutes.
