Roger L. Beer


Roger L. Beer, 72, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg, W.Va. He was born on March 10, 1946, in Buckhannon, W.Va.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Dello Ray Beer and Zula Madge Beer (Shipman); two sisters Zara M. Beer and Sylvia E. Bunner, two brothers Willard R. and Trexel L. Beer.

Roger is survived by a sister Delma L. McKinney (William) of Bonita Springs, Fla., a brother Dannie G. Beer (Brenda) of Mt. Clare, W.Va., and a sister-in-law Linda Beer of Hilo, HI. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Roger graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the class of 1964. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was honored as airman of the month at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota while serving.

After returning home he attended West Virginia University and Glenville State College. Roger worked at West Virginia Glass and the Princess House glass factories in Weston, W.Va., for a few years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
