XC Little Lady Bucs win B-U Invitational; Little Bucs finish fourth

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Bucs and Little Lady Bucs competed in the Buckhannon-Upshur Invitational Saturday morning at the high school.

The Little Lady Bucs won the event with 41 points while East Fairmont was second with 47 points and Ritchie County was third with 87.

Madison Knabenshue had a top five finish for the Little Lady Bucs placing fourth with a time of 15:01.46.

LenaRose Walker had a top 10 finish running sixth with a time of 15:15.45.

The rest of the Little Lady Buc roster was Bristol Zirkle running 11th (15:51.99), Chloe Lewis running 12th (16:06.87), Gwendolyn Rogosky running 13th (16:08.30), Makenna Marsh running 19th (16:39.08) and Mya Loudin running 28th (17:26.26).

Jenna Conaway of East Fairmont won the race with a time of 13:51.64.

On the boys’ side, the Little Bucs placed fourth with 83 points.

East Fairmont won the team title with 43 points while Elkins was second with 58 points and Ritchie County was third with 69 points.

Briston Hyre paced the Little Bucs by running ninth with a clocking of 13:27.37 while Kenton Stump finished 12th with a time of 13:32.42.

The rest of the Little Bucs were Rease Zirkle in 27th (15:48.96), Mitchell Whitley in 28th (15:55.79), Kylan Hedrick in 35th (16:15.92), Lucas Fortney in 43rd (17:30.24) and Grayson Malcolm in 52nd (18:29.47).

Jenner Stewart of Ritchie County won the individual title with a time of 12:32.7.

Both teams will return to action Sept. 12 at Barbour County.
