RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — West Virginia Wesleyan’s Alli Robinson earned NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America Honorable Mention honors.

Robinson led the Lady Bobcats and the Mountain East Conference in home runs (14), RBIs (60) and slugging percentage (.796). Robinson’s postseason recognition includes CoSIDA Academic All-District, NFCA DII All-Region Second Team, and All-MEC First Team.

The D2CCA All-America and All-Region softball teams, which are selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members from schools playing Division II softball, were first established in 2007. This year represents the seventh year in which the Division II Conference Commissioners Association solely sponsored the program.

Stockert Youth and Community Center board votes to close playground to public during program hours

The Stockert Youth and Community Center will make its playground a closed campus when the center has kids outside, such as during after-school and Camp Buccaneer hours. It will remain open to the public at all other times. Officials say the change will improve safety.

WVWC Spirit Award renamed Alisa Suttle Spirit Award

West Virginia Wesleyan College has renamed its long-running Spirit Award the Alisa Suttle Spirit Award, honoring the 1992 founder who retired June 1 after 39 years of service. Two students from each class receive the award annually, with eight Bobcats recognized this year.
