WVWC’s Hudson named MEC Pitcher of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan senior pitcher Hannah Hudson was named the Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday for the second time this season. Hudson was previously named the conference’s pitcher of the week on March 15.

Hudson went 5-0 in games this week, including a no-hitter thrown versus Wheeling on Saturday (April 16). The Blackstone, Va., native tallied 29.0 innings pitched and struck out 29 batters while only surrendering 14 hits, six earned runs and five walks.

She tossed four complete game (7 inn.) victories versus four different MEC opponents (Charleston, Davis & Elkins, Wheeling and West Liberty). Hudson has been a standout for the Lady ‘Cats in the circle, striking out 125 hitters in 119.1 innings pitched.

The Lady Bobcats are scheduled to travel to Elkins, W.Va., for a midweek doubleheader versus the Davis & Elkins Senators on Wednesday (April 20) beginning at 2 p.m.
