WVWC’s Hudson earns All-American Academic honors

AUSTIN, Texas – West Virginia Wesleyan pitcher Hannah Hudson was named to the Second Team Academic All-America® softball team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday (June 7).

Hudson recorded a 3.94 grade point average in her undergraduate studies of exercise science and earned a 4.00 GPA her graduate studies in athletic training. Hudson is one of thirteen softball Division II Academic All-American team members to hold a 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate or graduate coursework.

The Blackstone, Va., native was dominant in the circle for the Lady Bobcats and was named Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Year and NFCA All-Region. Hudson’s 1.15 ERA was the best mark out of all MEC pitchers during conference contests. The senior sat down 178 batters in 186.1 innings pitched and held opposing batters to a .195 batting average. Hudson tossed seven complete game shutouts and recorded 24 complete games in her breakout season.

Hudson is the first Lady Bobcat softball player to be named to an Academic All-America® team since Rebekah Honce was selected in 2016.
