INSTITUTE – The West Virginia Wesleyan College women’s volleyball team hit the road on Friday evening to take on W.Va. State, which came into the game with an impressive 12-5 record. The Lady ‘Cats, meanwhile, were undefeated in conference play.

Wesleyan took the first match 25-21, but  would drop the next two sets by narrow margins, 25-21 and 25-20.

In the decisive fourth set, State surged to a 25-10 win to capture the match 3-1. The loss dropped Wesleyan to 3-1 in Mountain East Conference play and 4-11 overall

The Lady ‘Cats were to have played again Saturday in the state capitol against the University of Charleston. They will stay on the road for games at West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit before returning to Buckhannon to face Notre Dame and Urbana in back-to-back matches on Oct. 11-12.
