WVWC cross country teams run at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The West Virginia Wesleyan cross country program competed at the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday (October 1) in Louisville, Ky. The men`s team ran an 8K and finished 16th out of 45 teams, while the women’s squad ran a 6K and finished 27th out of 40 teams.

On the women’s side, Leigha Hall finished 36th with a time of 19:49.5 and ran for a pace of 5:19. Dakota Johnson finished 85th with a time of 20:37.6 and ran a pace of 5:31.9. Marimo Akita (21:55.8) and Kristina Lesho (22:00.3) finished 192nd and 199th.

On the men’s side, Cade Robinson finished 42nd with a time of 26:24.1 and ran for a pace of 26:24.1. Anthony Sanders finished 51st with a time of 26:31.6 and ran for a pace of 5:20.2. Damon Martin finished 121st overall with a time of 27:25.4. Evan Pyles finished 137th overall with a time of 27:35. Jacob Defibaugh (27:53.7), Elijah Hannig (28:10) and Christian Cimaglia (28:10.8) finished 171st, 194th, and 197th.

Both cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 22) at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds in Slippery Rock, Pa. for the Bill Lennox Invitational.
