WVWC cross country teams compete in MEC championships

Wheeling, W.Va. — The West Virginia Wesleyan cross country program competed at the Mountain East Conference Championship on Saturday (Nov. 5) in Wheeling, W.Va. The womens team finished 6th and the mens team finished 5th.

On the women’s side, Leigha Hall finished 18th and earned All-MEC Second Team Honors running for a time of 26.11. Dakota Johnson placed 25th with a time of 27:00.28. Marimo Akita finished 29th with a time of 27:47.56. Alyssa Kelleher (29:10.01) and Alexa Gorondy (29:33.80) finished 37th and 40th.

On the men’s side, Anthony Sanders finished 24th with a time of 27:59.33. Damon Martin (28:38.29), Jacob Defibaugh (28:40.87) and Christian Cimaglia (28:44.72) finished 33rd, 34th and 36th. Rounding out the scoring to the men`s team was Cade Robinson who finished 45th with a time of 29:23.62 and Elijah Hannig who finished 48th with a time of 29:49.99
