WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital Dr. Daniel Brito honored with Fellow of the American College of Cardiology designation

Dr. Daniel Brito, a dedicated cardiologist with the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, West Virginia, was honored this March with the prestigious Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) designation. The recognition was awarded during the Convocation ceremony at the American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) Annual Scientific Session in Chicago.

This esteemed designation is one of the most significant honors offered by the ACC, reflecting Dr. Brito’s continued excellence in cardiovascular care and his leadership in advancing the field. The FACC title is awarded to cardiovascular professionals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, commitment to clinical excellence, and dedication to the mission of improving heart health for patients around the world.

“It is a profound privilege to be recognized by the American College of Cardiology,” Brito said. “I look forward to continuing to uphold the high standards this designation represents and to working closely with peers across the country and beyond to advance cardiovascular health.”

He also took the opportunity to recognize the unwavering support of his family throughout his journey. “I am especially grateful to my wife, Dr. Casandra Arevalo, for her constant encouragement and support throughout my entire career. I also want to thank my daughters and my parents, whose love and belief in me have been a guiding force.”

Dr. Brito’s work at the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon continues to impact the lives of countless patients through compassionate care, innovation, and a commitment to advancing cardiovascular medicine in the community and beyond.
