WVSP searching for tips regarding theft of pick-up truck’s tailgate, tools

TENNERTON — The West Virginia State Police is calling on the community to help crack a case involving a black Ford pick-up truck and about $9,000 of stolen goods.

Cpl. T.A. Menendez with the Buckhannon detachment of the WVSP said Thursday that on Tuesday, Oct. 9, someone is alleged to have taken the tailgate off a black F-250 Ford pick-up truck as well as “numerous tools” that had were stored inside the vehicle.

According to Menendez, the owner of the truck parked it at the wide spot along Turkey Run Road at 4 a.m. Tuesday morning to catch a ride to work with another person. However, when the owner returned around 7 p.m., he discovered the tailgate and the tools had been taken.

“I just want to know if anyone saw anything suspicious going on around that area along Turkey Run,” Menendez said. “This truck had the platinum package. It’s a really nice truck.”

Anyone with information or tips is advised to call the Buckhannon detachment at 304-473-4200 and ask to speak with Menendez regarding the case.
