Work, Live, Give — Generation Upshur plans interest meeting Wednesday at Las Trancas

Buckhannon, W.Va. – Generation Upshur, an affiliate of Generation West Virginia, invites young people ages 18 to 40 who live, work, or study in or near Upshur County to join them for an organizational meeting on Wednesday, February 26. The meeting will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at Las Trancas Mexican Restaurant in Buckhannon.

Generation Upshur’s mission is to attract, retain, and advance young people in Upshur County as part of a statewide movement with Generation West Virginia. They are working to reverse the state’s population decline with a vision for Upshur County where challenges are seen as opportunities, young people are drivers in our state’s future, and Upshur County is a destination for young people. They host events and programs around the motto “work, live, give.”

“Generation Upshur is resuming our work after a brief hiatus, so the purpose of this meeting is to invite many local voices to the table. We’ll be talking about the mission, brainstorming ideas, and recruiting for our board. Our goal is to build momentum with monthly meetings and start planning one event or other activity per month,” said Brittany Hicks, Generation WV’s regional manager who is working with the group.

To learn more about Generation Upshur, find them on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. There is no membership fee for Generation Upshur. They invite you to attend their meeting on February 26 and join them in building a community where young people can thrive.
