John Foster Tomblyn, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, March 28, 2025, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.
He was born March 24, 1955, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Ira and Mildred Hawkins Tomblyn.
He is survived by his companion, Vickie DeBarr of Buckhannon, two sons, Justyn Tomblyn of Torrance, CA and Robert “Zee” DeBarr of Buckhannon; two daughters, Exanna Megyn Tomblyn of Mineral Wells, WV and Brianna Hill and boyfriend, TJ Gould of Buckhannon; one grandson, Jonathon Woody of Mineral Wells; two brothers-in-law, Charles “Robbie” DeBarr and wife Cindy and Dale DeBarr all of Buckhannon; sister-in-law, Judy Anderson and husband Brad of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Adam Brown and one brother, Grayling Tomblyn.
Mr. Tomblyn was a funeral director for many years and served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He was known for his humor and ability to make others smile, he enjoyed camping, being in nature, and engaging in discussions about politics and religion. His favorite pastimes included fishing and cooking, reflecting his love for the outdoors and family gatherings.
In honoring Mr. Tomblyn’s wishes he will be cremated.
