BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan women’s basketball team turned in a dominating performance on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Davis & Elkins 92-60 at the Rockefeller Center. The Lady Bobcats controlled the game from the opening tip, building a double-digit advantage in the first quarter and never looking back to improve to 10-4 overall and 8-3 in Mountain East Conference play.

Senior forward Emma Witt delivered a standout performance, finishing with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-11 shooting, adding eight rebounds, and going 6-for-7 at the foul line. Witt’s presence in the paint anchored a Wesleyan attack that piled up 50 points in the paint and 21 second-chance points, consistently punishing the Senators on the glass.

Wesleyan’s balanced scoring attack featured four players in double figures. Kilah Dandridge added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Ana Young knocked down three 3-pointers on the way to 11 points. Point guard Sydney Baird filled up the stat sheet with 10 points and a team-high seven assists, directing an offense that shot 51.5% (35-of-68) from the field for the game.

The Lady Bobcats also received key contributions from the bench, outscoring D&E 28-22 in reserve points. Avery Childers scored eight points and dished out four assists, while Kadie Colebank provided a spark with eight points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting effort and six rebounds in just 10 minutes.

Defensively, Wesleyan applied pressure and created extra opportunities, finishing with 6 steals and forcing D&E into 19 turnovers, which the Bobcats converted into 20 points off turnovers. The Senators shot 35.1% from the floor and 2-of-12 from three-point range.

Davis & Elkins was led by Jahniya Marion, who scored 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting, while Kylie Morris added 11 points. The Senators got additional production from Jatia Markes (nine points) and Addison Boram (seven points).
