Willis Walton

Willis Walton, 79, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. 

He was born on October 25, 1940, at Eden, WV, a son of the late Macil Willis and Oma I. Gould Walton. 

On June 4, 2000, he was united in marriage to Carol Sue Newlon Walton, who survives. Also surviving are four children: Paula Cutright and companion Patrick Lane, Teresa and husband Tim Kelly, Roxanne and husband Virgil Tacy, and Jamie Alexander, all of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren: Chelsea and husband Ryan Bowers, Dustyn Walton, Devon Moffett, Cody Tacy, Chad Tacy, Leah Wolfe, and Ellie Alexander, all of Buckhannon; four great grandchildren; three sisters: Ellen Smith of Buckhannon, Susan Wilder of Ohio, and Kathy and husband Richard Barnhart of Eden; three brothers: Lonnie Walton and wife June of Horner, Roy Walton and wife Susan of Eden, and Terry Walton and wife Monika of Eden; and two sisters-in-law: Jean and Velva Walton. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son Mike Wolfe; two brothers:  Rex and Harold Walton; and an infant sister Doris June Walton.

Mr. Walton was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and had worked for Home Hardware and Southern States for many years.  He loved to hunt, fish, watch football games, and go camping.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at 2 p.m., at the Oak Grove Cemetery at Grafton, with Pastor Mike Wamsley officiating and the Upshur County Honor Guard conducting graveside rites.
