William Joe “Hillbilly” Keith

William Joe “Hillbilly” Keith, 51, of Ireland, passed away suddenly following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Toledo, Ohio.

He was born in Buckhannon on October 29, 1969, a son of the late Junior Keith and Georgie Ann Blake.

On November 10, 1987, William married Lisa Ann McCartney. Together they shared 34 wonderful years of marriage and the joys of raising their family.

Forever cherishing their memories of William’s outgoing nature are his wife, Lisa Keith; three children:  Little Buddy Keith of Ireland, Ashley Scranton and husband, Thaddeus, of Hicksville, Ohio, and Jessica Keith of West Virginia; one sister, Kathleen McIe and husband, Kenneth, of French Creek; three brothers: Fred Keith and wife, Faye, of Buckhannon, and Mike Keith and wife, Leslie, and Steve Keith both of New Philadelphia, Ohio; mother-in-law, Nelma Bailey of Ireland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.

William graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School as a member of the Class of 1987, simultaneously graduating from Tri-County technical school. He worked as a Union Pipe Fitter/Welder for Toledo Local Union 50 for over 15 years. William was Christian by faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Always the life of the party, William enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral Home Alkire Chapel  located at 190 Wildcat Road in Ireland from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Alkire Funeral Home Chapel with Dwayne Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Kincaid Cemetery on the Buttermilk Road.
