William E. “Bill” Wilson

William E. “Bill” Wilson, 68, of Frenchton, W.Va., was unexpectedly called home to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at his home. He was born to his parents Elmer Orden Wilson and Gertrude Opal Fletcher Wilson on May 5, 1951. He was preceded in death by both parents.

Bill leaves behind many heart-broken loved ones and friends, including his loving family:  Vonda Thomason of Frenchton, Audria Thomason of Morgantown, Cindy Gay and husband Jon of Frenchton, and Eric Thomason and wife Kim of Crawford; cherished grandchildren:  Kendra Page and husband Daniel, Levi Gay, and Kari Gay, all of Frenchton, Anna and Sophia Thomason of Crawford; two sisters:  Judy Riffle and husband Gerry of French Creek and Martha Andrew and husband Eddie of Frenchton; four nieces:  Leah Kuipers, Pam Gilbert and husband Shane, Lisa Schafer and husband Tom, and Becky Andrew; one nephew, Allen Andrew and wife Mary Ann; and many great nieces and nephews.

Bill was a 1969 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, an active member of Frenchton United Methodist Church, Upshur County 4-H and Upshur County 4-H Leaders Association, Upshur County Livestock Association, and Upshur County Youth Livestock Association.

Bill grew up on a dairy farm and was a dairy farmer by trade.  He was a “maker” and a “fixer” always tinkering on local vehicles and farm equipment to keep them running.  He owned his own Belarus dealership and enjoyed working timber with friends and neighbors.  Bill was known as a neighborhood handy man and makeshift veterinarian; he would be ready to help anyone at a moment’s notice and would gladly give the shirt off his back. In later years, he was a proud employee of K & L Builders, LLC and a great contributor to Mountain Pride Farms, LLC.  He was a life-long 4-H-er who loved teaching Upshur County kids about fishing and the proper way to build a bright and lasting Council Circle fire.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 4-7 p.m., at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The body will lie-in-state on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at the Frenchton United Methodist Church from 10-11 a.m. — the funeral hour, with Rev. Kevin Bender and Rev. Gary Rapking officiating.  Interment will follow in the Beechtown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Upshur County 4-H Leaders Association, 91 W. Main St. Buckhannon, WV 26201.

Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.heavnerandcutright.com  The family entrusted the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service with the arrangements.
