West Virginia Wesleyan College to celebrate 133rd Commencement on May 11

BUCKHANNON, West Virginia – West Virginia Wesleyan College will celebrate its 133rd Commencement with various ceremonies and activities Friday, May 10-Saturday, May 11, 2024.

On Friday, May 10, seniors and their guests are invited to a brunch with President James Moore from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Annie Merner Pfeiffer Library. The School of Nursing Convocation will be held at 1 p.m. in Wesley Chapel with a reception following in Middleton Hall.

The Education Department will host a reception for seniors and their guests at 2:30 p.m. in the social hall, third floor of the Benedum Campus Center.

The Multicultural and First Generation Ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts. Angel Riley ’99 will be the guest speaker. A reception will begin at 3 p.m.

Seniors and their guests are invited to a pre-Baccalaureate Dinner in the French A. See Dining Center from 5-6:30 p.m. Guests were $15 to be paid in advance.

West Virginia Area Bishop Sandra Bishop will give the Baccalaureate Address in Wesley Chapel at 7 p.m. Attendees are invited to stay for an ice cream social on the oval in front of the chapel.

Saturday, May 10, Commencement will be held at 10 a.m. in Wesley Chapel. Mark Phillips, President and CEO of Catholic Charities West Virginia, will address graduates. Aladdin Food Service will serve up a Post-Commencement Buffet for all graduates and their guests at 12:30 p.m. in the dining center following commencement. Guests were $20 per person, paid in advance.
