White scores 15 as JV Bucs down Liberty, 48-30

CLARKSBURG – Damion White and Xavier Robinette both scored in double figures to lead the Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Bucs to a 48-30 victory over the Liberty Mountaineers in a road battle Friday night.

White led all scorers with 15 points while Robinette added 11.

The Bucs trailed by three at the half but outscored the Mountaineers by a 31-10 count in a huge second half.

White had four points, Robinette two and Brody McDaniels one in the first quarter which went to Liberty by a 13-7 margin.

The Bucs took the second quarter by a 10-7 margin with Robinette and White each scoring three and Jimmie Green and Colton Warner two each.

That left the Bucs down by three points at the break, at 20-17.

B-U dominated the third quarter winning it by a 14-3 score putting them ahead by a 31-23 score.

Robinette had six points while White, Jacob Frye, Kaiden Marks and McDaniels scored two each in that third quarter.

The Bucs didn’t let up in the final quarter, winning it by a 17-7 margin with White scoring six, Frye three, and McDaniels, Marks, Warner and Brody Jeran two each.

Jonathon Folmsbee paced Liberty with 12 points while Cooper Floyd added 11.

The Bucs improved to 3-3 on the year.

They will be back in action Friday hosting East Fairmont at 5:45 p.m.
