Ohio County, WV – The West Virginia Division of Highways announces that as of Tuesday, August 13, 2019, the Wheeling Suspension Bridge is open to traffic.

Motorists are advised that the vertical clearances at the entrance portals are now 7’-6” and controlled by hard constraints.

Motorists are to obey the 2-ton (4,000 lbs.) bridge posting and to maintain a 50’ minimum distance between vehicles.

The West Virginia Department of Transportation asks you to please use caution when driving in work zones — Just. Slow. Down. It’s everybody’s responsibility. Drivers should download the WV 511 app for regular traffic and road work updates or go to the website at www.WV511.org. Stockert Youth and Community Center board votes to close playground to public during program hours

West Virginia Wesleyan College has renamed its long-running Spirit Award the Alisa Suttle Spirit Award, honoring the 1992 founder who retired June 1 after 39 years of service. Two students from each class receive the award annually, with eight Bobcats recognized this year.
