The West Virginia Trappers Association will hold its 56th annual 2025 convention Sept. 19 and 20, 2025, at the Gilmer County Recreation Center, 1365 Sycamore Run Road, Glenville, W.Va.
The board of directors will hold their meeting Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. Gates open Friday, Sept. 19, at 9 a.m. Convention trap tags will be provided to the first 300 people through the gate. There will be an hourly prize drawing from gate tickets.
Various demonstrations and trap dying and waxing will take place both days. Shop at several vendor tables inside and at tailgaters. Food will be available in the dining hall kitchen from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Basket making with Carol will be offered various times both days. A potluck/hot dog roast and social gathering will be Friday evening at 6 p.m.
Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. Trappers education class registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and classes begin at 9 a.m. A beekeeping seminar with Bobbi will start at 9 a.m. Saturday. There will be activities for kids and ladies both days. Trap setting contests will be Saturday.
The general membership meeting, awards and education class graduation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the main building. A benefit auction will follow at 2 p.m. A hot dog roast/potluck and social gathering will be in front of the demo barn near the camping area at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Primitive camping is available for $10 per night. There are a limited number of electric hookups for campers at $20 per night. The bunkhouse is $20 per person per night.
