West Virginia reports 328 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, two additional deaths

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Tuesday that 328 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Mountain State.

Locally, new cases were reported in Upshur (2) and Barbour (4) counties.

A total of 29 cases are currently active in Upshur County, according to the DHHR.

Two additional deaths have been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR – a 73-year old female from Ohio County and a 77-year old female from Wyoming County.

“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of April 13, 2021, there have been 2,560,842 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 146,790 total cases and 2,747 total deaths,” according to a press release.

About 7,347 West Virginia cases remain active, according DHHR data. Of the cases that are no longer active, 136,696 people have recovered and 2,747 have died. The daily percent positive was 4.16%.

A total of 465,793 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said.
