Wesleyan’s Elmer named MEC Offensive Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has selected the winners of this week’s MEC Player of the Week awards for women’s lacrosse. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan’s Nyah Elmer has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week while Frostburg State’s Liz Amos has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Elmer, a sophomore from Moore, South Carolina, helped the Lady Bobcats pick up a 17-2 win over Geneva. Elmer scored six goals to go along with four assists. She totaled nine shots on goal in the win.
 
Amos, a sophomore from Fairmont, West Virginia, helped the Bobcats to an upset 8-7 victory over No. 18 Seton Hill, making a career-high 14 saves in goal. She also added career-bests with two caused turnovers and six groundballs, leading the program to its first win over a ranked opponent at the Division II level.
