FROSTBURG — West Virginia Wesleyan women’s basketball closed strong to secure an 87–76 Mountain East Conference victory over Frostburg State at Bobcat Arena, Wednesday. The win improved Wesleyan to 9–4 overall and 7–3 in league play.

The Lady Bobcats set the tone early, opening the game on an 11–0 run and never trailing. Wesleyan shot 58.8 percent in the first quarter and followed with an even better 66.7 percent effort in the second, building a 48–34 halftime advantage. Balanced scoring fueled the surge, as Wesleyan finished the night at 53.0 percent from the floor and 47.1 percent from three-point range.

Kilah Dandridge led all scorers with a season-high 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting, connecting on three triples and adding eight rebounds. Ana Young rounded out the starters with eight points, three assists, and a pair of blocks.

Frostburg State made a push in the third quarter, trimming the margin to single digits, but Wesleyan responded with timely buckets and defensive stops. Baird and Young sparked a 7–0 stretch midway through the period to regain control, and Daniels’ activity on the glass helped Wesleyan weather the run. The Lady Bobcats carried a 65–55 lead into the fourth and put the game away at the free-throw line, going a perfect 6-for-6 in the final quarter.

Wesleyan held advantages in points off turnovers (18–9) and second-chance points (17–15), while also scoring 36 points in the paint. The Lady Bobcats committed just six turnovers on the night and handed out 14 assists on 35 made field goals.
