Wesleyan volleyball ends year with 3-2 win over Senators

ELKINS – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats played Davis and Elkins College last Friday for the last contest of the regular season. Both teams were coming into the contest with one conference win each.

The Lady Bobcats pushed their way through five sets to win big on the road against their rivals. The Lady Bobcats won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-20. They dropped sets three and four 25-23 and 25-21 before winning set five, 15-10.

Some notable performances from the match offensively with Hope Arce-Reed with 18 kills and Emily Denison with 14 kills. Setter, Makenzie Yates totaled an impressive 45 assists and was a proven key contributor for the Lady Bobcats.

On the back line, Libero Alexis Moeschler collected 19 digs as well as Emily Denison with 10 digs. There was a total of 14 block assists through out the match lead by freshman Bhrooke Axe and Makenzie Yates with three a piece.
